Nina Lane has done it again by penning another sexy yet emotionally driven tale that touched the very heart of me. She has a magical way with words that always leaves me in awe, never wanting the novel to end. This second installment in the Daring Hearts Series is no different. Here, I became enamored with Sebastian "Bastian" Hall and his lovely lady, Clara Whitmore. This couple's journey was jammed packed with passion, intrigue, and all the feels.  A relationship that began as a bargained marriage of convenience blossomed into a beautiful and eloquently written romance between two broken souls. I thoroughly enjoyed A Passion for Pleasure — 4.5 brilliant stars for this tender and heartwarming love story.

Sebastian Hall needed a wife. A once talented pianist, Bastian is suffering from a physical injury to his hand and can no longer play, and now facing financial troubles. To appease his unreasonable father and obtain access to his family's wealth, he needs to marry quickly. It just so happens that he is reunited with the beautiful Clara, his former music student now widowed who also needs to wed. Seeking a husband to help deal with an overbearing, controlling, and abusive father, Clara propositions Bastian with a marriage proposal that will benefit them both.

I adored this couple as their chemistry was instantaneous and intense. The overly sexy and broody Bastian, with all of his swoon-worthy charms, quickly burrowed his way into my heart. The once roguish and carefree playboy fell hard, fast, and deeply for Clara. His love and devotion to her, as well as his determination to help resolve her dreadful situation, totally won me over. And Clara's circumstances pulled heavily on my heartstrings. A woman with such an incredible amount of strength, yet vulnerable when struggling to remove herself from under her treacherous father's thumb. I felt her heartache. I relished how each supported and trusted the other while opening themselves up to the possibility of finding true love.

All in all, A Passion for Pleasure was an outstanding read that I highly recommend, especially to fans of historical romances. With a captivating plot and fascinating characters, this was an excellent follow-up to A Study in Seduction, but it can also be read as a stand-alone novel. I am looking forward to the next installment, A Dream of Desire.
